Maintenance is technical servicing — not content management. It covers plugin and core updates, security monitoring, backup verification, and resolving technical issues. It does not include content updates, new features, or design changes. Those are quoted separately.

Why It Matters

A WordPress site is not a finished product — it is a living system. Like any software, it requires regular updates to remain secure, compatible, and functional. Without maintenance:

  • Plugin and core updates can break functionality if applied without testing
  • Outdated plugins are the most common entry point for security breaches
  • Hosting environments change — PHP versions, server configurations, SSL certificates
  • Without backups, a single incident can mean days of lost work

A maintenance plan means someone is watching, and problems are caught before they become crises.

Plans

Plan A
Up to 2h / month
  • WordPress core updates
  • Plugin & theme updates
  • Weekly automated backups
  • Security monitoring
  • Monthly status report
Plan C
Up to 8h / month
  • Everything in Plan B
  • Same-day response
  • Extended technical support
  • Quarterly performance audit
  • Dedicated availability
Unused hours do not roll over. If a month requires more work than the plan allows, additional time is quoted before proceeding.

Warranty & plan scope: The one-month post-launch warranty included with all development projects covers bugs and issues arising directly from the development work. It does not cover issues caused by actions taken on the site after handoff — including changes made by the client, their team, or any other person with admin or editor access: content edits that break layouts, plugin installations or removals, theme or settings changes, or any other modifications outside of coordinated maintenance. Maintenance plans cover technical servicing performed by the developer only. Issues introduced by third-party actions are assessed and quoted separately.
